The gospel singer will join local gospel stars on Friday in entertaining guests at the official launch of the Revival Musical Tour 2009 by KXP Entertainment and South African Christian denominations.

Dube (pictured), a pastor by calling, recently walked away with the best artist and Lifetime Achievement awards at this year's SABC Gospel Crown Awards.

He will share the stage with the equally gifted Nana Mhlongo and Hlengiwe Mhlaba.

Peace Sibanyoni, the brains behind the Revival Tour 2009, says: "The popular belief is that churches are there to rip off people of their hard-earned possessions. By working with churches, we hope to ease the unbearable situation faced by many poor communities. It is high time the churches took their rightful place as a platform for poverty alleviation.

"The idea is to run this tour annually so that the churches can get actively involved in community development through the 10percent they will receive from concert merchandise.

"It is a give-and-take situation because church members are also expected to bring gifts or anything that will be of use to the needy."

Ticket packages for 10 people will cost R2500 while for 20 people it will be R5000.

All tickets for the show are sold through Computicket.
