UNDER pressure AmaZulu coach Neil Tovey steered Usuthu to their fifth win of the season when they beat inconsistent Platinum Stars 2-1 in a lukewarm PSL match at Chatsworth stadium last night.

The home team started the match on the offensive.

On the 12th minute, Sibusiso Hadebe burst on the right flank and played a beautiful cross inside the box but Dumisani Ngwenya could not connect. The half time score was 0-0.

In the second half, Alton Meiring connected well with a well taken throw in by Stanely Kgatla, and Mbongeni Mzimela dug deep to make a save.

Hadebe finally broke the deadlock when he slotted home from a cross by Nhlanhla Zwane on the 65th minute. Marc van Heerden increased Usuthu's tally five minutes later with a classical finish as he picked his spot and placed the ball on the bottom right corner after a neat move with Ayanda Dlamini.

Stars pulled one back when Bradley Grobler squeezed in a ball during a goal-mouth scramble with his first touch.
