A TEACHER, who claims to have been removed unfairly from his position as head of department at a high school outside Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo, is fuming.
This after a female teacher, Motlatjo Rallele, who earlier refused to take up the position at Mphuma High School, tried to return and claim the post .
This follows her abortive move to take up a similar position at the Makala Secondary School in Sephukubje village.
The teacher, Frans Mukhola, said he was appointed to the position of HOD at the end of September this year.
He was appointed after Rallele left for Makala Secondary School, a few kilometres from Mamaila.
Rallele's contract at Makala Secondary was terminated in October after it was discovered that she lacked maths and science qualifications, which are the requirements for the post.
After her contract at Makala Secondary was terminated she went back to Mphuma High hopping to be appointed HOD, but was not successful.
Mukhola claimed he was served with a letter from the provincial education department in October instructing him to vacate the position to make way for Rallele.
"I was demoted back to the post of ordinary teacher and my monthly salary was decreased to a lower level," Mukhola said.
He is seeking legal advice in an effort to get his job back.
Department spokesperson Ndo Mangala advised Mukhola to contact them to clarify the issue, which he described as strange.
