LOCAL comedians have come together again this year to raise funds for the needy.

LOCAL comedians have come together again this year to raise funds for the needy.

Comedians such as Eugene Khoza, Loyiso Gola, Trevor Noah, David Kibuuka and Kagiso Lediga will be performing at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg from December 8 to 13. If comedy is your thing then Market Theatre is a place to be.

Known as Just Because Comedy Festival, the festival is happening for the third time this year and it looks better. Last year's event was successful because it managed to raise R40000 for charity.

Khoza says they are looking forward to making people laugh in an effort to help others.

"We are looking forward again this year to perform. We have been doing it for the past two years. The difference this year is that the show will be on for one week.

"We will also be shooting a DVD that will be available in various music outlets. This year we hope to raise as much money as we can," Khoza says.

This year they are looking to feature budding comedians. "We want to give young comedians a chance to shine. We are also trying to avoid using the same line-up as last year."

Khoza says their primary goal for this endeavour is to bring down the curtain on the local comedy calendar with an event that raises money for the less privileged i over the festive season.

Ticket prices range from R50 to R120.
