Dog unit cops hurt in crash

EIGHT police officers of the Durban dog unit were injured when their police van collided with a bakkie yesterday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks said the accident happened at the intersection of Newlands East Drive and Nandi Drive in Newlands East at about 5.30am.

"The police van rolled but the bakkie stayed on its wheels," he said.

The officers were taken to the eThekwini Hospital to receive medical treatment. - Sapa
