Dineo making waves with new house track

HOUSE and dance music has a new face whose approach to the genre is refreshing.

HOUSE and dance music has a new face whose approach to the genre is refreshing.

Dineo Moholobela has just released a single as a precursor to her forthcoming house and dance album.

Called Hush, the single is bound to cause waves in the industry as it tackles contemporary issues in society.

"In this album I am talking about two people who have fallen in love, the other one is pleading that the other one must not leave him. The full album will be released next year after Easter, but for now music fans can relax and enjoy this single," the model-turned-musician said.

The 25-year-old musician must be one of the luckiest people in the music industry as it did not take much persuasion for a major recording company to give her a contract.

"I have the contract with me and before I sign on the dotted lines, I would love to first register my own label, Deneo Productions, which will take care of the publishing side of my career.

"I've been a model for the past three years, concentrating mainly on print media, having recently done some work for FNB and Pologolo, a new label that is owned by Isidingo actor Tshepo Maseko. I, however, decided that given my experience as a singer while growing up, I needed to revisit that part of me. I am working closely with producer Gerald Jones on this project. He used to produce for Boom Shaka," she said.

Moholobela comes from the North West town of Klerksdorp, and is determined to put her town on the map. "I live in the same street as Phil Masinga. I have struggled as I grew up in a poor family. But I have told myself that I have to work hard to get what I want in life.

"Nothing will stand in my way as I know I have the talent and the looks."
