FRANCOIS "White Buffalo" Botha will defend his World Boxing Federation heavyweight title against former four-time world heavyweight champion Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield.
WBF president Howard Goldberg said yesterday that the fight will take place at Nelson Mandela Memorial Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, on January 16.
"Holyfield and Botha remain two big-name heavyweight fighters in the world, so we are delighted to have such a fight on the African continent," he said.
Botha, 41, drew his last fight with Pedro Carrion in Germany last month.
Holyfield, 47, last fought in December last year, losing controversially to Nikolay Valuev for the WBA belt.
Botha boasts 47 wins (28 KOs), four losses and three draws, while Holyfield has 42 victories (27 KOs), against 10 defeats and two draws.
