Bafana appear to be at aturning point

BAFANA Bafana have finally restored some pride to the jersey.

The two successive goalless draws against Japan and Jamaica offered some hope for the nation.

Though we did not win or score a goal in either match, the fact that we did not concede either offers some hope going forward.

That we did not concede meant that we at least could not lose. We had gone nine games without a win and losing was becoming the norm.

The return of Carlos Parreira seems to have spurred the boys on. Their body language shows they are beginning to realise the importance of Bafana Bafana winning games ahead of the World Cup in June 2010.

The two games have helped the technical team to try various combinations and give fringe players a chance.

The friendlies also gave Parreira a chance to work closely with the team for an extensive period after an 18-month absence.

There were more positives than negatives from the matches. The road ahead can only get better.

Let's all unite behind Bafana Bafana and give them our unreserved support.

All 31 teams have booked their place for the World Cup. It's crunch time as far as preparations are concerned.

We have been through some bad patches and I hope these results represent a turning point for Bafana Bafana.

I hope Safa will arrange some competitive matches before March, as reported.

We need consistent and competitive practice matches ahead of the World Cup .
