ARYE Kellman is one of the lucky presenters of q- base-28, the new SABC2 TV slot that has replaced Tube.

Presenting a live TV show is something that has come naturally to Arye.

"The structure of the show makes it easy to present," he explains.

"We have so much fun we don't think about the thousands of people watching us."

After school he headed for Wits University to study for a BCom degree.

"The entertainment industry is so small here I wanted to make sure I study something that gives me more options."

Arye is also a social entrepreneur. He recently launched 500k.co.za, which is a 500000 pixel-sized Internet billboard with R500000 worth of advertising space.

"Companies can buy one of the blocks for R625 to get space to advertise themselves until the end of 2010.

"And R625 is not that much money for these large companies to spend," he says.

"Of this, 60 percent of the ad sales go to Childline South Africa.

"Most people don't know that 50 children are raped in SA every day. I think it's important to try to combat that statistic."

Today he takes a break to enjoy some cashew nuts, despite being partial to almonds..

"I'm more of an almond guy. They taste great and they are so healthy.

"But I'm excited about trying cashews. Maybe I will become a cashew fan after this."

First to be tried is the Woolworths roasted and salted cashew nuts.

"These are low on salt. They're really cool - quite soft. They don't look too processed and have a nice feel."

Next up is Pick n Pay's roasted and salted cashew nuts. "They're a bit bland."

The second last he tries is from Safari. "They lack personality and they're not exciting at all."

Lastly, he tries cashews from the D.Licious range sold at Clicks.

"They don't leave much of an impression on me."

"Of all of these, the roasted and salted cashews from Woolworths are the best."

Well, it seems his almond- loving days are numbered. Arye Kellman's now a cashew guy.
