Police said yesterday the men found the woman having sex with her boyfriend, a public works department official in Polokwane, when the incident happened.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba said the men hit the 41-year-old man with a hard object on the head and body, killing him instantly.
"Seeing that he was dead, they lined up and repeatedly raped the woman before assaulting her until she was unconscious.
"They left the woman naked at the scene and loaded the body of the boyfriend into the couple's car and dumped it in the mealie field at Nobody," he said.
Ramatseba said the couple had parked the car in the bushes outside Nobody near Turfloop before having sex.
He said the men advanced to the scene and found the couple and attacked them.
Ramatseba said the woman was later found in a state of confusion by a passerby who heard her cries in the bushes.
Police were informed about the bloodied woman and on arrival they found her crawling on the ground helplessly.
"We rushed her to the hospital near Polokwane where she is in a critical condition," Ramatseba said.
The men fled in the victims' vehicle.
No arrest has been made as yet and police investigations are continuing.
The incident happened barely two months after another couple was beaten to death by unknown men while having sex in the bushes between Nobody and Dalmada outside Polokwane.
The couple allegedly parked their vehicle at the side of the road near a lodge and had sex.
Police said the attackers went to the bush where they found the couple and attacked them.
"The attackers robbed the couple of their cellphones, wrist watches, money and clothes and raped the woman before assaulting them both until they died," the police said.
