One of the injured people was airlifted to the Netcare union hospital in a critical condition, said spokesperson Chris Botha.
"On impact, the Audi was flung over the barriers and the mangled wreck came to rest in the veld next to the roadway," Botha said.
"Emergency services had to use the jaws of life to free the bodies from the crumpled metal."
The two seriously injured people were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulance. - Sapa
