HANNOVER - Hundreds of Hannover fans queued at the club's stadium yesterday to pay tribute to Germany goalkeeper Robert Enke after his apparent suicide.
Hannover set up a book of condolence outside the AWD Arena on Tuesday night, hours after Enke was hit by a train near the city.
Some fans lit candles and left scarves and shirts in tribute to the 32-year-old.
Police and Enke's agent, Joerg Neblung, said on Tuesday night that Enke apparently committed suicide. There was no word on the possible reasons.
Enke played eight matches for Germany and was a frontrunner for the goalkeeping job at next year's World Cup. - Sapa-AP
