COACH Gordon Igesund has parted ways with Maritzburg United.

The resignation of the four-time Premiership-winning coach was confirmed by the side's administrative manager Afzal Khan yesterday.

"He cited personal reasons for his decision," Khan said.

"Though we lament Gordon's departure, life will go on. We have a quality team which is in the middle of the table and I think they will fight for more points in the second round."

The Team of Choice have appointed assistant coach Salie Adams as a caretaker coach.

Igesund joined the club at the beginning of last season and the club finished 15th on the Premiership log. They negotiated their way back to the top flight through the National First Division playoffs.

Meanwhile, Mpumalanga Black Aces have parted ways with their coach Sammy Troughton. Club boss Mario Morfou will announce their new coach today.
