Cosmos cannot afford loss to erratic Swallows

JOMO Cosmos are treading water in the Absa Premiership and the way they have been playing does not suggest they will still be in the top flight next season.

JOMO Cosmos are treading water in the Absa Premiership and the way they have been playing does not suggest they will still be in the top flight next season.

If they don't start winning now, they will find it difficult to overcome the obstacles in the second round.

The club's woes were compounded by Ajax Cape Town, who pipped them 1-0 in midweek and it remains to be seen how they will fare against Moroka Swallows tomorrow.

But Swallows have problems of their own and they are eager for a win after their midweek defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns. Tomorrow's match takes place at Rand Stadium, starting at 8.15pm.

Ezenkosi will be more desperate for a win since they are stuck at the foot of the table and with the season being short, they know that they can ill afford further slip-ups.

While not in the same predicament on the log, Swallows coach Rainer Zobel must be frustrated with his side's erratic performances.

Based on their last performances, this clash could turn out to be an absolute stinker, but neither Sono nor Zobel will care as long as they collect maximum points.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Mpumalanga Black Aces' performance against Amakhosi on Wednesday will have boosted their confidence ahead of their 3.30pm clash with Ajax at Puma Stadium in Witbank. They can surprise Ajax if they stay focused.
