Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
After an excellent job she did at Ukhozi FM, the SABC has seconded Bongi Gumbi-Magudulela to help out with Radio 2000's programming.
Gumbi-Magudulela joined Ukhozi FM 14 years ago. She arrived at Radio 2000 on Monday full of ideas.
She will be acting programmes manager for the next nine months.
She started out as an announcer at Ukhozi FM, and three years ago she was promoted to executive producer.
Gumbi-Magudulela said she regards her temporary move as an opportunity to broaden her horizons.
"I take this as a challenge. Radio 2000 is the fastest growing commercial station in South Africa. I am not afraid of challenges, I tackle them head-on."
While she was an executive producer of Ukhozi FM, Gumbi-Magudulela helped increase the station's Gauteng listenership.
"Previously Gauteng listeners thought that Ukhozi FM was for people living in the rural areas. We changed their minds by restructuring our programmes."
Radio 2000 station manager Calito Sheikh is excited about Gumbi-Magudulela's move.
"She will make an impact at the station."
