Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
THE mother of a 12-month-old baby who died after allegedly eating rat poison at a crèche says her life is no longer the same.
The 17-year-old Grade 9 pupil, Busisiwe Dlamini, lost her baby while he was in the care of a crèche owner in her township of Zenzeleni in Warden.
The care giver sent her dead baby, Siyabonga, home, saying she thought he had fainted.
Dlamini, who lives with her older sister, says she will not rest until justice is done.
The incident happened two months ago.
The crèche was shut down by government officials after Siyabonga's death.
But the owner of the crèche still walks freely in the township since police have not yet established whether she was responsible for the baby's death.
"I see her in the township almost daily," Dlamini said.
The delay in getting the forensic results is apparently due to the laboratory being renovated.
"It will takeat least a month or two before we finalise the results. This is because the lab is being renovated," said Inspector Chris Swart. - Sowetan
