SOCIALITE and South Africa's Red Carpet Queen Uyanda Mbuli, is ready to take on the international fashion world.
Mbuli, pictured, and her clothing label - Diamond Face Couture (DFC) - are headed for the opening of the Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates later this month.
The clothes will be modelled by 2009 Miss World contestants at this prestigious event which runs from November 12 to 14.
Unveiled a year ago, DFC is co-owned by Mbuli and award-winning young fashion designer Gert-Johan Coetzee.
DFC debuted at last year's Sanlam SA Fashion Week to rave reviews in the media and fashion gurus. The public has also taken to the label.
Distributed exclusively through its studio in Melville and a flagship boutique at The Zone, Rosebank, the label includes ready-to-wear couture for women.
Mbuli said the Abu Dhabi show would be an amazing opportunity for the brand. She said they were excited to have been picked to dress some of the most beautiful women in the world.
"This will give us the opportunity to show that South Africa has great talent, taste and world class fashion ahead of the Miss World finals here in Johannesburg, and of course the 2010 World Cup," Mbuli said.
The finals of Miss World 2009 are scheduled for December 12 at the Sandton Convention Centre and 120 beauties from all over the world will compete for the title.
DFC is already a firm favourite among South Africa'n's A-List celebrities.
It dresses some of the most stylish women in entertainment including TV presenters Nonhle Thema, Lira and Bonang Mathema.
