IT is disgusting to see how Cosatu has become a pawn of executive mayor Philemon Mdaka in the Vhembe region.
In the run-up to the ANC regional conference Cosatu and its affiliates worked with the corrupt ANC Youth League though it was disbanded for divisive and selfish tendencies, just to ensure that Mdaka becomes ANC chairperson.
What kind of Cosatu is this that spends time campaigning for leaders while the poor workers on farms remain unprotected.
In Musina, for instance, farmworkers continue to be denied the right to vote in all elections. It is clear that the current leadership of Cosatu in Vhembe is there for selfish material gains and not for the poor.
