A ROBBER wounded in a botched hijacking in Pinetown yesterday morning has died in hospital, paramedics in KwaZulu-Natal said.

ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said the robber received critical injuries and was declared dead at 4.30pm in Entabeni hospital.

Earlier, police spokesperson Superintendent Danelia Veldhuizen said a motorist was putting up advertising boards for his business at the corner of 7th and Pine Streets when a car pulled up beside him.

Three occupants, two armed, alighted from the car and confronted the man.
