The artist's fourth album will be available in the shops next month, including in South Africa, her recording company Universal Records has confirmed.

Called Rated R this is a long-awaited follow-up to her 2007 multi-platinum Good Girl Gone Bad album.

One of the most anticipated albums by this award-winning Def Jam recording artist, Rated R is scheduled to arrive in the physical and digital marketplace on November 23.

Rated R's first single pick, Russian Roulette, was launched yesterday worldwide online.

Russian Roulette was written and produced by Ne-Yo, whose long track record with Rihanna includes the hit Unfaithful (2006, from A Girl Like Me ), their Top 10 duet Hate That I Love You (2007, from Good Girl Gone Bad ), Take A Bow (2008, from Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded ).

In addition to Ne-Yo, other producers and writers on Rihanna's new album include the team of The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, Chase and Status, Stargate, Justin Timberlake and many more.

Good Girl Gone Bad was the third album released in less than two years by the 21-year-old Barbados native.

It followed-up 2006's A Girl Like Me, which contained the back-to-back hits SOS and Unfaithful, and her 2005debut Music Of the Sun, featuring the world-wide smash, Pon De Replay.
