A MAN was killed and 13 other people injured when a taxi and a car collided on the R603 near Adams Mission, south of Durban, on Sunday evening, paramedics said yesterday.
"The light motor vehicle slammed into the side of the taxi as it entered an intersection at about 6pm, causing both vehicles to spin out of control," said Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks.
The driver of the car was declared dead on the scene and firefighters had to battle to free his body from the mangled wreck using the jaws of life.
Of the 13 injured people, four had sustained serious injuries.
All the injured people were taken to Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital, said Wicks. - Sapa
