A MAN believed to be suspected crime kingpin William "Mashobane" Mbatha's accomplice has been nabbed.

The pair is facing two counts of kidnapping and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, among other charges.
The Atteridgeville, Pretoria, socialite is hogging the headlines for the wrong reasons after being arrested in connection with a string of robberies and the hijacking of cars.
He was granted R50000 and R15000 bail by the Germiston magistrate's court and Pretoria high court, respectively, before being rearrested for unrelated crimes.
His previous court appearances were characterised by Mbatha's wife, Yvonne Mbatha, arriving in flashy cars such a top-of-the-range BMW X5 or the latest VW Golf GTI with an entourage driving Range Rovers and 7 Series BMWs among other flashy cars.
But yesterday, Mbatha's wife rocked up in a modest Toyota Hilux van - minus the entourage, an indication that money could be running out.
Magistrate Isabel Mlaba remanded the two in custody until next Wednesday.
Mokone, who was not represented, is expected to get a lawyer before Wednesday.
Mbatha, who has been in custody for almost three months, seems to have had enough of smelly prison blankets since his wife brought him a new one yesterday.
