Brought to audiences at home by Cadbury Lunch Bar, the long-awaited home-grown version of the international talent show sensation is finally hitting our screens.

There is no doubt that episode one set the scene for seven weeks of sensational family entertainment.

Besides the excitement, there will be hairy moments when audiences cringe their way through a diverse selection of the country's finest and untalented participants.

The show leaves no stone unturned in trying to unearth talent.

The first episode kicked off with the introduction of the judges media and radio personality Shado Twala, the infamous Randall Abrahams and Ian von Memerty.

Expect sparks to fly as the trio lets rip with bold and honest comments about the talent they are presented with.

Sassy 5FM DJ Anele Mdoda and zany comedian Rob van Vuuren complete the crew coming in as the presenters.

Since the days of the late Gibson Kente and township theatre, talented aspirants and practitioners have come a long way to proving just how gifted they are.

Young lions like Lebo M, who is respected internationally and is currently riding the crest with the Lion King, has taken the talent thing to another level.

Not only has he made his name internationally but he has put many talented individuals on the map, sending them to countries such as the UK, Canada, France and Germany, among others, to play various roles in The Lion King.

Our country abounds in talent, which will just whither away if not nurtured, Lebo M is once more on the road conducting auditions for the extremelytalented. SA's Got Talent kicks off with a bang.

Ed Worster, SABC2s programme manager, said: "Having been part of the audition process, I am confident we as a channel have tapped into the South African market and we will produce the next best talent. We are proud to bring this programme to the nation."

Cadbury marketing director for chocolate Mike Middleton said: "Cadbury is extremely excited to be associated with SA's Got Talent.

"We believe South Africa is a nation of incredible and diverse talents looking for an opportunity to show that they too are made of "much, much, more" - just like Lunch Bar, one of South Africa's favouritechocolates."

This highly captivating show ends on November 5. Audiences will view highlights of the auditions in an hour-long show during the semifinals on November 9, 10 and 11.

There will be a performance show from 7.30pm to 8.30pm each night, followed by a public vote and then a results show at 9.30pm.

Two acts a night will go through to the finale.
