LONDON - The first England international to be available only on the Internet attracted around 250000 subscribers, the Sunday Times reported yesterday.

Saturday's World Cup qualifier, won 1-0 by Ukraine, courtesy of Sergei Nazarenko, against an already-qualified England in Dnipropetrovsk, was not shown live on any UK television networks.

The turning point of a fiery encounter came when Rio Ferdinand allowed a long ball to bounce past him to Artem Milevskiy, who was brought down in the penalty area by England keeper Robert Green. Green was dismissed.
