SOCCER legend Lucas Radebe will address a Fifa conference in Zurich on October 17 and 18 that will deal with medical issues related to the game, including how to prevent injuries.

He will also use the platform to promote the 2010 World Cup.

Radebe, the Football for Hope ambassador, will share the platform with Fifa president Sepp Blatter and secretary Jerome Valcke.

The event is jointly organised by the Fifa medical committee, of which former Bafana Bafana doctor Victor Ramathesele is a member, and Fifa's medical assessment and research centre.

Ramathesele is now chief medical officer for the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

Radebe will represent the players, French technical director of coaching Gerard Houllier will do it for coaches while Swede Martin Hansson will speak on behalf of referees.

Participants will be introduced to the latest achievements in football medicine and the benefits.

Fifa said the conference will deal with the prevention of injuries, sudden cardiac death, and fair play from a medical perspective.

Blatter will also talk about Fifa's Football for Health project, which addresses the major health threats in various communities.
