Twenty-eight female guards were unfairly dismissed by a security company because the client‚ Metrora.
AFTER dethroning internationally renowned singer Kelly Rowland from her comfortable position as the face of one of the largest cosmetic houses, there is no doubt that Nonhle Thema is the "IT" girl of the moment.
Thema, who started as an ambassador of Dark 'n Lovely body lotion, charmed the international executives and was named ambassador for their hair products, successfully dethroning Rowland of Destiny's Child fame.
"I was not seriously considering my chances when my agent was approached by the executives of Dark 'n Lovely.
"They indicated that they loved my looks and my bubbly personality. It could do justice to their hair range.
"And I am not talking about South Africa only but in countries such as Canada and France," says Thema, whose cute image is already smiling at Johannesburgers across the Nelson Mandela Bridge.
The vivacious formerChannel OVJ has also distinguished herself on O Access, the programme she recorded in the US talking to rappers.
"I gave that up to join Vuzu, a three-month-old youth channel," she says.
"It was time for the next challenge.
"I had been with O Access for five years and felt it was time for a change.
"It was a brilliant career move and I don't regret my decision at all."
She attributes this amazing feat to the universe.
"If you are good to the universe and those around you, it showers you with an abundance of blessings," she says.
Following closely in her mother's footsteps, Thema is the daughter of the first Miss Africa South, actress Cynthia Shange, who currently acts in Muvhango on SABC 2.
Her father is the former journalist Derrick Thema.
