BIDVEST Wits striker Calvin Kadi could have done his chances of playing for Bafana Bafana harm by declaring that he is not ready to play for the national squad.
Kadi, currently leading the scoring charts with eight goals, said he was not yet ready to don the jersey.
"I don't think I'm ready yet. I first want to establish myself in the PSL," he said yesterday. "This is the first time in a while that I have played regularly so I need to maintain my current form. I need a month or two before I could be ready for Bafana."
The first player who declared he was not ready to play for Bafana was Free State Stars' forward Sthembiso Ngcobo. But he has since honoured his call-up and has been drafted in to face Norway and Iceland.
When asked if his comments might put his chances of a call-up in jeopardy, the Wits attacker said: "This really does not bother me."
His coach, Roger de Sa, says he can do the job.
