MADRID - Cristiano Ronaldo sprained an ankle in Real Madrid's 3-0 Champions League win over Olympique Marseille on Wednesday and is a doubt for Sunday's Spanish Liga match against Sevilla, the club said yesterday.

The Portuguese forward scored twice at the Bernabeu Stadium, his eighth and ninth goals in seven matches since his record transfer from Manchester United.

He suffered the injury when Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara fouled him and conceded a penalty in the second half.

After undergoing tests yesterday morning, Ronaldo trained separately from the rest of the squad in the gym, Real said on their website.
