The trio is back from their nine-year hiatus and has delivered yet another killer album, Coming Back Home.
Their album cover shoot took place last week and Sowetan was there to share the experience. The boys arrived on the scene full of energy and ready to take on the day's proceedings.
Refiloe Ramogase of Van D1 Entertainment, the company tasked with the trio's management, said: "The concept was a modern take of the three wise men bearing gifts to kwaito.
"The idea is that the guys reunite from all their different paths of life to make their way back home to kwaito.
"Each shot was styled in a way to highlight the characteristics of each TKZee member."
Kabelo was the first to corner the stylist. This brother could easily be in the fashion industry if the music thing didn't work out for him. He worked with stylist Mpumi Ntintili-Sinxoto to put his look together.
"The mission was to give him an understated and low-key look by mixing high-end formal wear labels like Vigano and Strellons with more relaxed grown-up sporty wear, like golf tops from Penguin and of course stylish sneakers to finish off his look," said Ntintili-Sinxoto.
The mandate for Tokollo on the other hand was to perpetuate his persona in the media. He was styled in a way to present him as a ladies' man, always in the presence of beautiful women.
Ntintili-Sinxoto said it was very easy to pull this off - as Magesh, in spite of it all, has been able to maintain his cute baby face over the years and this helped to achieve the look.
"For the actual cover we had to give him a bit of a formal classic look, which is foreign for him, showing his swagger style. He is not a fussy guy when it comes to clothes."
The ever-humble Zwai, the trio's no-stress man, was the last to be shot. He is always in suits to suit his classical music training and Ntintili-Sinxoto sought to break him away from this.
In other shots the guys posed with a green vintage car, à la Phalafala style, this time donning summer brights paired with classic True Religion denims.
The sounds of the soon-to-be-released Coming Back Home filled the air for the day, inspiring the team. Guys, TKZee is really back!
