In a last-ditch effort to find a solution to the problems that led to the team sinking to the bottom of the log, management and players held a meeting during which a number of issues and concerns from either side were tabled and discussed.
"We have been losing for far too long and the time has come for us to turn the corner. After our meeting with management, we all came out more committed to do well. We need the three points more than Arrows and we promise to die with our boots for the three points," said AmaZulu midfielder Ntokozo Sikhakhane.
He said they were eager to move out of the relegation zone.
"We don't belong there. It is up to us as players to take the team out of that place and we have to do it starting from this match," he said.
Usuthu PRO Philani Mabaso appealed to their supporters to be calm and not to do "things that would put the club into disrepute".
Arrows' skilful linkman Philani Shange said: "This game is all about pride and we want to win it at all costs."
