"As a responsible association we must first satisfy ourselves in terms of what is happening in the team," new Safa president Kirsten Nematandani said.
"The best way to find out where the missing link is, is to meet the coach, technical staff and management. The negative perception of Bafana Bafana is not good at all.
"Bafana Bafana must tell us what kind of support they need from us. We want to see Bafana Bafana doing well again. We also need to utilise institutions like the High Performance Centre and get as much scientific support as possible for all our national teams.
"In this country we are very fortunate to have all those scientific centres but we in football, unlike cricket and rugby, are not utilising them."
Nematandani has also extended an olive branch to the administrations that lost out during the drama-filled Safa election on Saturday.
Turning to Irvin Khoza, Nematandani said: "He is vice president of the association.
"We have everybody under one roof. It is also very important for us to interact with our sponsors, the media and all the stakeholders.
"We all know that people are divided when you have elections. Now the elections are over and we have to work together as a team."
Nematandani said development will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of his new leadership.
"It is a must that we increase the number of players, referees, coaches and administrators. There must be a lot of excitement at grass-roots level.
"We also need to have proper leagues in all the LFA (Local Football Associations), the problem with our people is that they want results overnight.
"Serame Letsoaka {Safa technical director development} needs to dream big and engage the institutions," Nematandani said.
Khoza and Jordaan could not be reached for comment. Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana and Mandla Mazibuko were elected vice presidents.
