Malinga, who probably lost the trust of BSP owners Branco Milenkovic and Jacob Matlala by losing in the first round to WBC champion Hozumi Hasegawa in March, fights relatively inexperienced Tanzanian Fadhili Majia, who has only seven wins in as many fights. Malinga has 22 wins, three defeats and one draw.
Their fight at Wembley Arena in Johannesburg tonight, the first for Malinga since his defeat in Japan, forms part of BSP's extravaganza that features two more WBO Africa title fights as well as an IBF title eliminator.
The left-handed Malinga is a warrior.
He learnt his approach from trainer and father Jabulani Malinga.
Vus'Umuzi, whose Nguni name means "revive the clan", earned the right to challenge Hasegawa after ending the illustrious career of seasoned Thai fighter Veeraphol Sahaprom with a fourth-round stoppage in Thailand on June 12 last year.
Meanwhile, Takalani "The Panther" Ndlovu should make a resounding introduction to BSP by disposing of Spaniard Kiko "Le Sensacion" Martinez within the distance in their IBF junior featherweight title eliminator.
The fight will be televised live on Blow by Blow at 10pm.
Ndlovu, who has left 18 of his 34 victims gasping for air, is rated fifth while Martinez, who has 15 short-route victories in 22 wins, against two defeats, is rated eighth.
The winner will challenge Panamanian champion Celestine Caballero.
Meanwhile, Michael Schultz makes a comeback after 10 years.
Schultz, who retired undefeated in 1998 after 12 wins and two draws, will fight Oupa Mahlangu in the super middleweight division over six rounds.
Mahlangu from Witbank has three wins (3 KOs), eight defeats and one draw.
Warren Joubert and S'Fiso Msibi will meet for the third time tonight in a non-title six-rounder. "Warrior" Joubert won both previous fights.
The action is scheduled to start at 7.30pm.
