BONES could crack when hot prospects Mthobisi Buthelezi and Stefan Stevanovic collide for the IBF welterweight youth title.

BONES could crack when hot prospects Mthobisi Buthelezi and Stefan Stevanovic collide for the IBF welterweight youth title.

Stevanovic is the champion.

They will fight at Sport Hall Banjica in Belgrade, Serbia, on October 10.

These 21-year-old twinkling stars are still to experience defeat. "Destroyer" Buthelezi from KwaZulu-Natal boasts six stoppages from 10 wins, while "Suger" Stevanovic from Belgrade has only two short-route wins from eight victories.

This will be Buthelezi's first fight outside South Africa - a compliment from Branco Milenkovic.

Soft-spoken Buthelezi paid tribute to Milenkovic for giving him such a chance.

"I will bring the title back," he said with conviction yesterday. "I knew about this fight long ago, so I had enough time to prepare."

Buthelezi fights out of Gauteng under mentor Gert Strydom, the man who moulded Malcolm Klassen into the dynamite that blasted polished fighter Cassius Baloyi in seven rounds for the IBF junior lightweight belt in April. Strydom said he knew nothing about Stevanovic except his fight record.

"I have confidence that Mthobisi will win. His condition is superb," Strydom said. "He has been staying with me for four weeks and I did to him what I did to Malcolm for the Cassius fight."

They will jet off to Serbia on October 2.
