DO NOT be fooled, Lievers Mthetho Mabunda is not a real estate agent and the police are searching for him.

Mabunda, 40, allegedly sold unadvertised houses that already had occupants and swindled unsuspecting people of thousands of rand.

Gauteng police said Mabunda posed as a sales agent from SouthNet Housing and "sold" houses in Soweto.

Inspector Sanku Tsunke said three cases of fraud were being investigated against him .

"The suspect allegedly approached unsuspecting victims and offered them houses in Soweto. He would give victims various bank account numbers into which to deposit money," Tsunke said.

"After the deposit was made, the suspect would vanish. He sold houses which were never on sale."

Tsunke said Mabunda was arrested on January 30 and was convicted on May 8 but absconded.

"There are two warrants of arrest against him for failing to pay his victims and for failing to appear in court," he said.

Mabunda also has four warrants of arrest against him on cases of theft.
