EMERGING Afro-soul singer, Camagwini is looking forward to performing with her idol and seasoned indigenous musician Madosini Manqineni.
The two Xhosa women will dazzle music lovers at this year's South African Traditional Music Awards in Durban on October 3.
Manqineni boasts decades of experience as a Xhosa indigenous traditional singer and has travelled the world.
She started playing music in the early 1970s, probably before Camagwini born.
A few years later, Manqineni shares the stage with the singer who is young enough to be her grand-daughter.
Camagwini, whose real name is Siphokazi Buti, is one of the promising musicians whose future looks bright.
The Satma awards were formed four years ago to recognise the role of South African traditional music in the country.
Since then the awards have grown to become a recognisable event. To prove that Satmas have grown, Martin Luther King III will be the guest of honour.
Dumisani Goba, the founder of the Satma awards, said this year they had increased the categories as a sign of growth.
"We have added a category for hip-hop musicians who rap in African languages.
Our aim is to encourage them to continue promoting their cultures and languages."
Another exciting collaboration to look forward to is between Yvonne Chaka Chaka and maskandi singer Ihashe Elimhlophe.
Other artists who are billed to perform on the big day include Nothembi Mkhwebana, Busi Mhlongo, Zuluboy, Themba Chauke, Zinhle, Mafikizolo and Dorothy Masuku.
There will also be a Satma awards after-party scheduled to start at the same time as the awards ceremony at 6pm.
The line-up for the party includes HHP, Ntando Masinga, Beezory and Joe Nina, among others.
