No closure

THE worst of our fears have been confirmed but in the end nothing could have prepared his family and the nation for the tragic end to the months-long search for missing policeman Bachipile Andrew Rapeta, whose decomposed body was found this week.

THE worst of our fears have been confirmed but in the end nothing could have prepared his family and the nation for the tragic end to the months-long search for missing policeman Bachipile Andrew Rapeta, whose decomposed body was found this week.

As in all unsolved cases questions about the motive for the killing will remain unanswered as long as the faceless killers are at large.

It is cold comfort that the grieving Rapeta family will finally be able to bury his remains.

Their healing will only begin once the mystery surrounding his death has been cleared up after the police have tracked down the killers to face the full might of the law.

Criminals who kill police have no regard for the law whatsoever and deserve the harshest sentence to reflect our society's outrage at this sort of crime.
