A Limpopo man who was allegedly repeatedly kicked in his genitals by police until he needed anoperation lives in fear of being killed by the same police officers.
This after Oupa Malibe of Practiseer in Burgersfort had allegedly received threatening calls and SMSes.
Since receiving messages, Malibehas called on the police to protect him.
Malibe claims the messages come from the police officers whom he pointed out during a parade as those who assaulted him.
The Independent Complaints Directorate confirmed yesterday that a case of threat to kill has been opened and that investigations were continuing. At the centre of the quarrel is that Malibe and one of the officers are dating the same woman.
Malibe claims that he was kicked in the genitals by the officers "because they wanted to condemn me from having sex with the police's girlfriend".
He said since he was beaten the woman has moved in with him but he is unable to satisfy her sexually because of the excruciating pain following the operation.
Sowetan has established that the same police officer has a three-year-old child with Malibe's girlfriend.
The woman and the officer had separated.
Malibe started receiving calls and messages soon after the woman had dragged the same police officer to the maintenance court to support his child.
