MAMELODI Sundowns reacted angrily yesterday to claims made by their former coach Clemens Westerhof that Down's president Patrice Motsepe is wasting money on a sport he does not understand.
Westerhof was quoted as saying there was no need for Motsepe to spend his money on football "without knowledge" of it. Communications manager Alex Shakoane described Westerhof's comments as sour grapes.
Westerhof, who works at Kwara United football academy in Nigeria, said he was just making an assessment on how Motsepe can turn Sundowns' into a super power in African football.
