Moon passes unfitness test

IT COULD have been termed a touch of moon madness when Greece-based defender Bryce Moon, pictured, arrived at the Bafana Bafana training camp in Leverkusen yesterday after he had already been replaced by Lance Davids in the squad for tomorrow's game against Germany.

IT COULD have been termed a touch of moon madness when Greece-based defender Bryce Moon, pictured, arrived at the Bafana Bafana training camp in Leverkusen yesterday after he had already been replaced by Lance Davids in the squad for tomorrow's game against Germany.

After Moon's Greek club had informed Safa earlier in the week that he was injured and not fit for Bafana's two-match European tour of Germany and Ireland, he was immediately replaced by Ajax Cape Town's Davids.

But despite Davids already being ensconced in the Bafana camp with the other squad members, it was then decided to summon Moon to Germany for an examination by the South African medical staff.

He consequently passed his unfitness test with flying colours, so to speak, and was heading back to Greece faster than you could say Speedy Gonzalez. - Sapa
