Contractors value Caster

IN RESPONSE to the article "Caster and her neighbours deserve houses", I find it outrageous for Hasani Mabasa to publicly lambast the Limpopo department of local government and housing for having pledged to build a house for athletics heroine Caster Semenya.

IN RESPONSE to the article "Caster and her neighbours deserve houses", I find it outrageous for Hasani Mabasa to publicly lambast the Limpopo department of local government and housing for having pledged to build a house for athletics heroine Caster Semenya.

Allow me to untangle the un-constructive perceptions poor Hasani has obviously fallen victim to.

The content of the article is slanted and myopic.

For the record, the department will not incur any expense for the construction of the house.

The initiative may be the brainchild of the department through the pledge it has made, but it will not fork out a cent for building the house.

This department is community welfare driven and it therefore does not operate in a vacuum. It works in partnership with likeminded people and is flanked by contractors who value people .

Contractors have volunteered to build the house for the Semenya family, so the pledge was made.

The contractors are paying for the construction of the house, the furniture and everything else.

The reason for the department making the pledge is none of anyone's business.

I believe that the statement, "the entire Masehlong village in Moletji must be up in arms", could incite violence in our serene Limpopo.

Caster's family deserves the house more than you think, Hasani.

I'm a son of this province and as someone who endorses this initiative, I will not be led into the temptation of a despicable world of tactless expression of opinions by people like Hasani.
