Banda to be buried

FORMER Orlando Pirates forward Elias "Trinity" Banda, who died on Sunday, will be buried at the Avalon Cemetery in Soweto on September 12.

FORMER Orlando Pirates forward Elias "Trinity" Banda, who died on Sunday, will be buried at the Avalon Cemetery in Soweto on September 12.

Banda, who also played for Pimville United Brothers, died in his sleep at his home in Diepkloof.

On the day he died he was brought home after attending a function at the Putco Depot near Soweto .

Banda was one of the most revered forwards in the country and his goal-scoring prowess endeared him to many supporters, not only of the teams for which he played, but also to supporters of other clubs.

Banda is survived by his four children.

He was 62.
