A MAN suspected of robbing SA Social Security Agency officials of a huge sum of money at a pension pay point in Nkandla has been shot dead by police in KwaZulu-Natal.
"Philani Nzuza, 30, was killed by the police on Tuesday," said Inspector Mbongiseni Mdlalose.
"He was wanted for four murder and three robbery cases. Police believe he was involved in the pension pay point robbery in Nkandla."
l Meanwhile, Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma will attend today's funeral of a KwaZulu-Natal man who committed suicide after he allegedly failed to get an ID document.
"I can confirm that the minister will attend the funeral of S'khumbuzo Mhlongo tomorrow [today]," said Home Affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa yesterday.
The funeral will take place at Nqetho near Hillcrest at 10 am.
Mhlongo hanged himself last week.
