Letsoalo finds himself in hot water for allegedly giving unqualified people authority to mark scripts for law students.

Also, the marking of the scripts was done at the employees' homes.

Sowetan has learnt that Letsoalo, of SH Letsoalo Attorneys in Polokwane, is currently under investigation after several complaints were laid against him.

Sowetan has a copy of a letter addressed to the management in the school of law at the university in which calls are made for Letsoalo to be charged.

But management has not yet taken action.

In the letter the "markers" complain that they were not qualified to perform those duties.

"We were made to mark scripts of civil procedure irrespective of the fact that we do not have appropriate qualifications," reads the letter in part.

It is also claimed that Letsoalo used to give his employees keys to his office on campus to collect scripts to be marked.

"At some stage Letsoalo was away and he insisted we combine question papers for 2005 and 2007 to set a question paper for 2008," the markers claim.

University spokesperson Kgalema Mohuba confirmed receiving the complaints against Letsoalo.

"The matter has been reported to us and the management of the school of law is doing an investigation," Mohuba said.

He said on receiving the report they will determine whether to proceed with disciplinary actions or not.

"We will be guided by the contents and the recommendations of the report," he said.
