THE long-awaited findings by the Mpumalanga government over an alleged R210million contract scandal were kept from the media yesterday.
The report is now set for tomorrow.
Sowetan has reported how the public works department's former head, Priscilla Nkwinika, awarded contracts worth millions of rands to "undeserving" companies, including those owned by Premier David Mabuza's former wife, Ruth Silinda.
Nkwinika was later moved from the public works department to the premier's office, where she is now its deputy director-general.
Mabuza has steadfastly defended his failure to implement the recommendations of an integrity management unit - instituted by his predecessor - Thabang Makwetla, claiming the report was "incomplete".
