SEARCH and rescue team members in KwaZulu-Natal are still battling to find the bodies of two boys who are believed to have drowned at sea.
This was after two others, aged 15 and 17, were rescued from the sea in Durban's harbour on Wednesday night.
National Sea Rescue Institute members were also involved in the search.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Vincent Mdunge said though information was still very sketchy, two of the boys had been rescued.
"I can confirm that four boys were apparently on a ship from Singapore," he said. "But investigations revealed that they were originally from Tanzania.
"It is still difficult to tell how they ended up on the ship and for how long they had been there."
Mdunge said according to information reaching him two of the boys were still missing.
"We don't know what happened to the other two. Our investigations might shed some light into the whole saga," Mdunge said.
ER 24's Derrick Banks said two minors were in a serious condition at Entabeni Hospital.
He said ER24 were called to the harbour to assist in transporting and treating "two minors who had been found hiding in one of the compartments of the ship, which was out at sea.
