EXCITING Botswana winger Phenyo "Kideo" Mongala looks set to make his Absa Premiership debut for Orlando Pirates against Jomo Cosmos at Orlando Stadium tomorrow night.
Kickoff is 8.15pm. Mongala was granted his work permit yesterday by the Department of Home Affairs.
He joined Pirates in July from AmaTuks. He made an immediate impact by scoring in Pirates 2-0 win over Manchester City in Polokwane.
Unlike in the previous season, coach Ruud Krol is spoilt for choice this season after the acquisition of quality players.
Krol now has an array of great players on the bench - the likes of Terror Fanteni, Joseph Kamwendo, Zvenyike Makonese, Oupa Manyisa, Gert Schalkwyk, Dennis Masina and many others.
Their first-choice goalie, Moeneeb Josephs, has also come to the party this time round.
Josephs, who is on top of his game, is still to concede a goal in the league.
Thulasizwe Mbuyane, Pirates' attacking midfielder, said they were out to make it two wins in a row after they defeated Moroka Swallows 1-0 in Dobsonville on Wednesday.
Avril Phali, the Cosmos goalkeeper, said they were determined to bring Pirates to their knees.
"Pirates are riding the crest of the wave and are sitting pretty on top of the log. They have also not conceded a goal and we think it's about time that happened," he warned.
Cosmos also boast excellent players like Koena Mathopa, Tico Tico Bucuane, Bamuza Sono and Thapelo Tshilo, who are capable of embarrassing Pirates in their own backyard.
In Bethlehem on Sunday, Free State Stars welcome Moroka Swallows at Goble Park in what is expected to be an exciting match.
