Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
THE wife and alleged killer of tourism mogul Franz Richter will have to pay R2000 to stay out of prison - for now.
Celiwe Mbokazi, 35, lodged the unexpected bail application at the Johannesburg high court after being informed by Correctional Services that her 18-month-old daughter will be taken away from her on September 1. The child was born in prison.
Yesterday, Judge Nico Coetzee rejected the state's request to set bail at R50000.
The judge also rejected the state's proposed bail conditions that she report to the Muldersdrift police station twice every week, saying it was too far from Diepsloot where she will be living with her sister.
He also ordered the Richter family and investigating officer Inspector Abram Joubert to return Mbokazi's identity document, which has been in their possession since her arrest.
Her bail conditions are that she report to Honeydew police station every Monday and Friday that she does not leave Gauteng without the consent of the investigating officer and does not contact witnesses.
Mbokazi allegedly hired Mazwi Khumalo - a man with whom she was having an affair and is the father of her child - Tshepo Chirwa, Dumisani Xulu, Gilbert Mosadi and Vincent Dlamini to rob and shoot her elderly husband in 2007.
