Wits help make a difference

"BEING passionate about sports and committed to making sport count to every South African is our aim," Barney Girnun, joint managing director of MSC Sports, told more than 100 pupils during a corporate social investment campaign at Seana Marena High School this week that featured Bidvest Wits.

"BEING passionate about sports and committed to making sport count to every South African is our aim," Barney Girnun, joint managing director of MSC Sports, told more than 100 pupils during a corporate social investment campaign at Seana Marena High School this week that featured Bidvest Wits.

As part of their contribution to the community, MSC Sports has adopted the Soweto school. For the past three years they have worked with the school through donations, celebrity visits or coaching sessions.

The company's three core focus areas are sports marketing, event management and memorabilia.

The directors are Girnun, Neil Jankelowitz and Steven Kapeluschink and their mission is to make sport count for local businesses.

One of its strategic objectives is to help children develop their sporting talent.

This year MSC Sports donated balls for soccer , volleyball , netball and basketball, as well as other kit.

Jankelowitz said: "Today was about MSC Sports wanting to establish strong sporting interest in students, motivate them to participate in sport .

"We felt bringing Bidvest Wits Football Club to interact with the students would be a significant motivator."
