No bail for laced drinks pensioner

The man who was arrested for possession of poisonous substances he allegedly used to drug people and later rob them was yesterday refused bail.

William Ramodibe appeared in the Marble Hall magistrate's court in Limpopo in connection with the case.

Ramodibe, 64, from Hammanskraal near Tshwane, is expected to appear in court again on Friday for a formal bail application.

The police arrested the pensioner on Saturday after a tip-off.

Ramodibe was allegedly found in possession of Coca-Cola cans that had holes in their bottoms.

According to police spokesperson Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba, another person believed to be working with the pensioner fled before police could arrest him.

The police are still looking for the man.
