Mobile clinics for farm residents

AN AMERICAN organisation has donated four mobile clinics to Engesedraai farm dwellers, a village outside Badplaas in Mpumalanga.

Family Health International, which focuses on HIV-Aids projects in developing countries, handed over four mobile service units at the weekend.

FHI director Sonja Pilusa said her organisation worked closely with the National Health Department to deal with the challenges of access to basic healthcare services experienced by the majority of people in rural communities.

The package of services within the mobile clinics include family planning, HIV-Aids counselling testing, TB screening, cervical cancer screening, and sexually transmitted infection diagnosis.
